SKINUX'S CLIENT WINS BEST OF SHOW AT INTERNET WORLD

Skinux, Inc., a skin user interface company in Cary, North Carolina, finished a banner year with a big win. Skinux's client, X3D Technologies, won Best of Show at Internet World 2002 for their leading media software products, TV Gateway and PC Gateway, which use a unique, photorealistic skin user interface designed and developed by Skinux.

X3D Technologies contacted Skinux in July of 2002 to implement a skin user interface for the two media players, which convert media from 2-D to 3-D on the fly. "The marketing team at X3D felt that a skin user interface was necessary to differentiate their products from others in a crowded entertainment software marketplace. Our technology gives them that competitive edge," said Richard Krueger, Skinux's Chief Operating Officer.

In addition to winning Best of Show, X3D sold more than 100,000 copies of the software suite within a 3 month period.

Skinux will be upgrading both software products for X3D by the end of this month. They are also assisting Mazlab, a high-end research and development firm in Montreal, by helping them define a prototype for a next-generation digital VCR.

Skinux, Inc. was founded in Febrary of 2000 to provide photorealistic, animated skin user interfaces for software and for hardware protyping. Their technology helps companies differentiate their products in a competitive marketplace, dramatically enhancing productivity and speeding product time-to-market.
